The boat is beautifully decorated, a medley of flowers covering the entire funeral site. Mourners, human and demon alike, gather at the urn to pay their last respects, before Genkai's ashes are lost to the sea. There is a great deal of food and drink, the funeral was well thought out, and well endowed.

Against one of the walls is the urn containing what remains of the great woman. There is a small, comforting picture of her above it, and a small pad on which the mourners kneel.

Clink clink.

It is time.

Does anyone have anything to say?

Please post here with all your goings-on at the funeral. You can chat, eat, cry, pray, or choose to say something to the entire procession, in other words, give a speech. Let your imaginations run wild.

Hiei stood silently in one corner of the room, looking upon the mourners in a rather bored manner. He had wanted to go to the funeral, the death of someone great was something Hiei very much appreciated, even if he felt no sorrow over it.

The suit he was wearing, however, was incredibly uncomfortable. He shifted a bit, uneasily, before walking over to the table with food and picking up a chicken leg.

Shizuru left the two squabbling friends outside on the porch and headed back inside where it was still quiet with people mourning and not fighting with each other over drunken kisses. She wandered over to the refreshment table to get some punch and saw Hiei already there.

The little demon could generally be trusted not to make a scene and mostly everyone she actually knew there was either outside or preoccupied with their own grief anyway. "I'm a little surprised to see you here," she said quietly enough that she wouldn't disturb the other guests. "More surprised to see you here in a suit. I woulda thought dressing like a human would be below you."

Shizuru was glad that Kurama had helped her get everything organized since, between the two of them, everything would be able to run smoothly. Besides, with all of Yusuke's insistence to help, he had enough stress to deal with without planning a wake. She stood near the back of the room, watching over everyone and making sure nothing went wrong. She'd already said her piece to Genkai when the old woman had come to her so Shizuru really didn't expect to be making a speech and, besides, her hands were itching to go outside and smoke.

Yuusuke still hadn't made his speech yet and wasn't planning on doing so anytime soon either. It sucked. Besides, no one else was really paying attention to much else than their own grief...It shouldn't have, but it surprised him how many people and youkai showed up. Genkai'd touched more lives than he knew, huh?
The crowd was getting on his nerves after a few hours, for more reason than one so he had ended up outside, sitting on a less 'conspicuous' part of the porch and lit up a cigarette. Maybe if he saw Shizuru, he could ask her why the hell Kuwabara was hardly around, even if Yuusuke really shouldn't be dwelling on dealing with that today.

After a while, all of the standing around among a depressed crowd of people and demons, most of which she didn't know, began to get to Shizuru. If anyone was stupid enough to start anything then there were plenty of people capable of handling it, so Shizuru wandered outside, pulling out a cigarette and going to light it when she saw that she wasn't alone.

Wandering over to Yusuke, Shizuru lit her cigarette and fell in beside the young man. "Little too stuffy inside for you too?" she asked casually, looking out on the view from the porch.

Yuusuke didn't bother moving once Shizuru sat beside him, just nodded.
"Yeah..." He hardly ever talked to her, so thinking of anything to start any kind of converastion wasn't too easy.
"So...You doin' okay?" Yeah, that sounds like somethin' I'd mean Yuusuke wasn't much for speaking but, she had given him advice so he did owe it to her to at least ask that. "I mean, I put all this wake crap off on you an'Kurama."

Shizuru smirked. "From where I'm sitting it looked more like me and Kurama took it from you." She hadn't really minded, and she was pretty sure that Kurama hadn't minded either. "From what I've heard, though, I'm doing a helluva lot better than you. Has he talked to you at all?" Shizuru asked, assuming that Yusuke knew which "he" she was talking about.

"Him?...No. And it's not like I haven't tried. I called, I e-mailed. I'm sick'f this shit, I aplogized and today, he keeps fuckin' leavin' the room."
Yuusuke stopped speaking as soon as he realized he was ranting. No way was he really that pissed Kuwabara wouldn't talk to him, it was just Kuwabara!
"Not that it matters any, I'm just sick've him actin' like I did somethin' so damn dirty or crap."

"It doesn't matter any that your best friend won't talk to you 'cause of something you did?" Shizuru asked wryly. Not for a moment did she believe that Yusuke didn't really care about her brother. "He'll get over it eventually. Like I said, he's just not good with dealing with . . . anything."

"..No, 'cause it does matter I did it..But he shouldn't be actin' like such an ass. It didn't matter t'me, or him so I don't know why he can't just get over it."
It hadn't mattered at all. It was just being drunk and lonely, that was all.
"...Y'don't need t'talk to me, okay? You already did enough already, it's not like I don't have anybody else."
Even if Kuwabara wasn't talking to him, Hiei was out of the question, Kurama had too much on his hands and Keiko...Just wasn't there.

"When has he ever been able to get over anything in just a couple of days?" Shizuru retorted pointedly. She knew her brother and she knew that it was going to take longer than a day for him to get over anything that happened to him. Shizuru shrugged and took a drag of her cigaratte. "All I'm doing is taking a smoke break. If any talking happens during that then so be it."

He remained outside the temple, by the yard extending before it. His eyes idly glancing into the sky and the voices were a soft drone in the background. The attire was simple, yet suitable for the mourning. An ebony black suit covered a shirt in the colors of ash and a dark green tie.
Even if it seemed he was locked away in a daydream, the redhead was aware of the surroundings, 'alert' just in case any apparition attempted to take advantage of the situation.

Once more, the soft breeze of the night grazed his hair forcing it to curl and wave. More visitors came to pay their respects to the warrior. From his spot, he caught the sight of varied expressions, grief upon all, but many had an expression of regret, like if they should have done something they did not. Certainly, defeating her.

Kurama turned back, and glanced across the yard where Yuusuke stood, now alone. Considering the previous events, he could easily guess the other was depressed and now lamenting his actions. Kissing a best friend, inebriated, something he would never do. Yusuke must have been embarrassed, very.

"Yuusuke," he greeted the raven haired teen from behind, looking up at him calmly, with his comprehensive eyes of jade.

Yuusuke had wanted to follow the Kuwabara siblings, just to listen in what they were talking about. He had a feeling it might have been him...But that would have been giving a damn what *that* guy said, so Yuusuke just glared after them and walked off, but not back indoors...All those people made him nervous. Plus, the suit he was wearing was starting to feel so damn constrictive...
He walked away from the temple some, just so he had no chance of running into anyone and almost as soon as he just was standing there, enjoying at least how cool the air was, Yuusuke heard another familiar voice behind him.
"Urk-" Great, Kurama. Doubtlessly he had some idea what had happened between Yuusuke and Kuwabara, not that he'd say anything rude, it was just...Wierd. And it'd be rude to just ignore the red-head, so Yuusuke sighed defeated-ly and half turned to the red-head."...Hey, Kurama...What're you doin' out here?"

"Basically watching." He replied as his gaze locked in the new-comer that passed behind Yusuke and into the temple. "And assuring the flowers remain fresh until tomorrow, when you give her the last farewell."

"...You're watchin' the flowers?" Yuusuke asked slowly, with a slightly amused tone. "...That fits, I guess...You gonna stay her t'night?"
Yuusuke was searching his pockets for a smoke, but he must have left them on the porch...Fuck.
"Tch...'Cause, if you are, I might stay too. Might be cooler here than at my place, and I'm pretty sure from missin' four days, I've got no job t'go to."

"Yes, I will," was the first assertive reply the other got. "I told my mother I would be staying until tomorrow. She even published an obituary.

I am certain the entire situation uneases you, Yusuke... but try to understand losing yourself you grief will take you to regrettable actions."

"Yeah yeah, you're like the fourth person t'tell me that...I'll be just fine how I am though, Kurama. I got more important things to worry 'bout other than some job or place t'live...I can always get another one of those. Right? Better't take care of this kinda thing sooner..."

He gave Yusuke a heavy-lided stare, perhaps apathetic, or mischievous. "Alcohol reduces inhibitions. And allows you to do things you would never do without it." He commented casually. Perhaps the other would realize, perhaps not. "But I will silence, respecting you."

After a moment, Yuusuke's hand came out of his jacket's pockets and rested on his hips, one foot tapping.
"...Who 'round here doesn't think I already got th'hots for Kuwabara??? I dont'. I was just....Drunk!....And...And lonely...Besides, it's not true, but Kuwabara's like, head over heels for *Yukina*, there's no way he'd ever think any that kinda thing as anything other than wrong."

Botan walked over to the picture, but couldn't quite bring herself to say her goodbyes. She had worn her nicest kimono for the occasion, and had her hair swept in an updo, but no matter how nice she looked, it couldn't compensate for the fact that she was speechless.
Of course, it didn't help that she had been the one to ferry Genkai off.

After Yusuke left, the redhead turned back spotting the death deity wearing an elegant kimono, but her demeanor was not bright. It was evident, she had been the one to ferry Genkai's soul. "Botan," Kurama greeted her taking some steps closer to the spirit maiden. His calm gaze resting upon her, comfortingly.

Botan started slightly, having been zoning out lost in thought, before turning to Kurama. She put on a cheery (not entirely false, but not entirely true, either) smile. "Oh, hello, Kurama, I didn't see you!" she greeted.

"I have also been distracted tonight."
And he glanced back at the temple, noticing few still remained. Some left, others were entering, soon the wake would conclude. "She pleased with her life, I am almost certain," he commented, somewhat asking Botan to confirm his thoughts.

"She was, actually. She seemed really happy with the way things have gone," Botan replied, smiling a little.
Looking at it, it was really Yusuke she had been concerned about, more than Genkai.
